The State Public Defender’s Office is seeking to contract with an attorney to be part of the 2nd Judicial District Drug Court Program in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The contract would begin in April 2018 and end June 30, 2018.
This contract would require assisting eligible offenders to become substance abuse free, responsible citizens. The drug court will provide extremely intensive one-on-one supervision, treatment, intervention, support, and other related services to assist offender change.
The Drug Court Defense Counsel will participate in an intensive supervising court case management team weekly. The Drug Court Team consisting of Judge, Prosecutors, Defense Counsel, Probation/Parole Officer and treatment provider focuses on a Non-Adversarial approach to offender recovery and law abiding behavior.
It is anticipated that the attorney selected for this contract will spend about 32 hours per month in providing these drug court services. Rate of pay is $2,000 per month.
