Overview of the Administrative Rulemaking Process
Executive Order 10 - Rulemaking Information
On January 10, 2023, the Governor issued Executive Order 10 which directs state government departments, agencies, boards, and commissions to cease future rulemaking except in limited circumstances until a comprehensive review of current rules is completed. The Order directs each government entity to review their existing rules on a timeline provided by the Governor.
The State Public Defender's deadline is December 31, 2026.
